Apple Pie of Grandma Rina There are endless recipes for apple pies, but the one that Grandma Rina (her real name was Caterina) did for his family on Sundays or during the holidays was truly special. The touch provided by the orange marmalade, walnuts and raisins makes today even more delicious than once.
Time: 1 Hour
Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients for 8 people:

  • 2 eggs
  • 50 grams of butter
  • 200 grams of sugar (we use cane sugar)
  • 100 grams of Millefiori honey (but are good all variants)
  • 150 gr of flour 00
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1 kg of Fuji apples or other type of your choice

Essential Ingredients:

Preparation:

Peel a kilo of apples, cut into thin slices and leave 10 minutes posing in a large container with 100 grams of cane sugar and 50 grams of melted butter (also add a sprinkle of cinnamon if you like). Meanwhile, in another bowl, combine the eggs with the remaining 100 grams of sugar, honey, flour and baking powder, and mix preferably with an electric whisk to create a soft and homogeneous mixture. Cover a baking pan diameter of about 24 cm with baking paper and pour the soft dough all over the pan with a spoon. Above lay the slices of apples that can be arranged as you like (the layer of apples will be much higher than the pasta). Before you bake in preheated oven at 160 ° C, garnish with 5-6 “flakes” of orange marmalade, walnuts and raisins, as desired. Cook for about half an hour, let it cool and serve.

Enjoy your meal!

Our advice:

After the pie has cooled sprinkle with powdered sugar. Also good if served with warm zabaglione cream.
